Medium Ebonized White Oak Bowl-0070
Species: Ebonized White Oak
Size: Roughly 10.5" x 3"
This vintage bowl is a once turned bowl, ebonized white oak piece. Iron staining, or ebonizing, generally uses a reaction between iron oxide and the natural tannins in wood to create a natural-looking black that is actually created in the fibers of the wood rather than a stain sitting on top. As a once turned bowl dries it warps slightly and presents a slight oval, deformed shape. This vintage oak bowl is great for serving a lovely salad or as a fruit bowl.
This bowl is finished with Hampton Bowl Company Wood Butter, a all natural, 100% organic finish that will keep the bowl fresh for generations.
